Cluckeye Legendary Bow in Diablo 3 - Possible Secret Chicken Level?
The legendary bow weapon Cluckeye may suggest that there will be a secret chicken level in Diablo 3.
With the upcoming release of Diablo 3, players are now able to check out a preview of many of the in game items through Blizzard's official Diablo 3 database and guide. Of particular note, and one interesting weapon I managed to stumble upon was the legendary bow, Cluckeye. Blizzard has a tendency of leaving little clues and hidden Easter eggs in its games and their supporting content (like the game's website) and it is in my personal belief that not only is this weapon going to be a special drop, besides just being legendary quality, potentially coming out of a possible secret chicken level.
Yes, that's right, I said it, there may be a secret chicken level in Diablo 3. What makes me think this you ask? Well mainly because of the Cow King's regalia set items which were found in the Secret Cow Level in Diablo 2. I draw this connection since the Cow King's items were the only humorous items of its kind, available only in the secret cow level, which makes me think that the Cluckeye legendary bow will fall off a similar type of crazy boss type character or it's minions.
Some other interesting points of note about Cluckeye, is that if you look at its page, you will find this picture hidden behind the weapon's icon and surrounding box (click view background image to see it on the site, or click here). This secret image seems to show a small chicken standing over some sort of arcane rune, also alluding to the connection mentioned above.
Beyond potentially falling from some sort of evil chicken minion that exists in a secret level in Diablo 3, one possibility for this weapon is that it will polymorph enemies it hits into chickens, much like the matching spell in game and its counterpart in World of Warcraft.
Whatever its source and uses are, it's worth checking into over the next couple weeks or on May 16th when the game official releases, as new information is likely to be added soon with the game be finalized as I write this article. The Cluckeye is likely to be a highly sought after weapon for high level characters, so keep your eye out for any secret chicken level portals ;)
