Israel Attacks Hamas in Gaza

The writer closes by indicating that just as the Bush Administration's supposed Iraq mistake in the War on Terror has revitalized the terrorist community there, the response of President Bush when reached at his ranch in Crawford was supportive of Israel in this defensive measure, although failing to acknowledge the political ramifications that will result due to the strength of the Israeli "defensive" attack over the long run with respect to ending the conflicts over Gaza. The writer also made reference to the timing of this air strike being undertaken in the waning days of the Bush Administration (a vehement Israel supporter) and his hope that with the change in administration, support for Israel might lessen or Mr. Obama will take a stronger lead with respect to resolving the Middle East conflicts in this region.
I hate to break it to this writer but the wars between the Israelis and militant Muslim factions has continued now for over 2,000 years. The U.S. has now made additional terrorist enemies on behalf of Israel now since World War II. Economically, it profits and satisfies certain private industries in this country that there not be any long lasting Middle Eastern peace. Although a Democratic Congress was elected in 2020 after the American people had spoken about the current conflict in Iraq, it has been refunded by that Congress each and every time it has come up for a vote, and now those costs are being hidden within pork bill legislation. Mr. Bush snuck into Iraq also within this past several weeks and signed an accord with the Iraqi government, from the limited reports which were available, again it would appear without the general knowledge of the American people, or other than a few "in the know" members of Congress calling for the withdrawal of our troops - beginning in 2020, coincidentally during the next presidential election cycle.
Surely you jest that the Middle East situation, or our War on Terror is going to change under an Obama presidency. Mr. Obama has been quite open about his beliefs that we simply need to regroup some of those troops and open a new theatre in Pakistan. Or did this Washington Post writer miss those comments with respect to the Middle East due to the fancy footwork and subterfuges which were a hallmark of this past two year campaigns due to the hooks of both parties, "Hope," "Change," and "Country First," without hearing the message of "no change," "little hope," and "Israel, globalism and oil first?" Or that our own economy took a dive when those candidates both voted for the 700 billion bailout in order to pay back their campaign contributors at the American people's expense, with one wanting to escalate the Iraqi conflict, and the "winner" merely wanting to take those troops and move them around the Middle East like chess pieces in this game of Risk?
