Review of the RCBS Powder Trickler
Article is a review of the RCBS Powder Trickler for reloading ammunition.
The RCBS Powder Trickler is made of a metal body that is hourglass shaped with a small tube running through the middle. The top of the RCBS Powder Trickler is filled with powder and the handle on one end of the tube is then turned until powder begins to fall from the other end of the tube. The RCBS Powder Trickler is then positioned to drop powder into the powder scale's pan. A dipper or measure is used to get the powder into the pan close to the charge and the trickler is then used to complete the load. The RCBS Powder Trickler worked as advertised with Hodgdon 4831 SC, Hodgdon 110, and IMR 4227. The one complaint that I have with the RCBS Powder Trickler is that it is very light. The light weight causes a problem as a slight bump can move the entire trickler when placed on a smooth surface. However, the base of the RCBS Powder Trickler is open and weight can be easily added to make the trickler more stable. Placing the trickler on a non slip surface or pad could be a solution as well. The tube of the trickler also slides back and forth but when you are slowly trickling out small amounts of powder it isn't much of an issue.
The RCBS Powder Trickler is available from numerous retailers and is normally priced at just under $15. The RCBS Powder Trickler is a big time saver for those who weigh their charges when reloading ammunition.
