The Finepix HS10 is a tier above the other releases primarily because of one outstanding feature: a powerful, built-in 30x optical zoom lens that is the first of its kind in the world.

This "megazoom", as it is referred to, is equivalent to a 24-720mm lens on a 35mm camera. It is so powerful that as a comparison, an SLR would require at least two separate high end zoom lenses just to cover the same range.
Even with its ultra long range zoom lens, the HS10 comes in a neat, compact package. It measures just 130x90x26mm and only weighs 636 grams without the batteries. This compact design does not only look and feel good; it is also a very useful asset.
Because the main body and the lens are built as a single unit, problems arising from dust accumulation are greatly diminished. The same cannot be said for other removable and interchangeable lens models.
When capturing images on this superbly well built camera, the photographer has a choice between using the 3.0 inch LCD display or the electronic viewfinder (EVF). As a twist however, Fujifilm has added a unique sensor on the viewfinder to help make shooting shots snappier and faster.
