This website isn't just for people who want photos for their own use; this site was also designed for the photographer's who are addicted to taking pictures and want to share their work with the world. You can be either a contributor to the site or a user of the site or both, its simple all you need to do is create a free account and then you can either start uploading pictures you take or downloading the ones you like.
For the people who want to use the photos for their web design or other personal uses, the account you are required to sign up for shouldn't shy you away from the Stock.XCHNG. They won't spam you with unwanted junk, it's a safe account to open and it's totally free. Once you have an account you are free to start getting images and there are no limitations to the amount of pictures you can download. Many of the images have different sizes for your convenience, you can browse images by category so you can find the type of image you need quickly. There are so many to choose from you will probably have a hard time choosing which one is best for you, there are some really amazing photos at Stock.XCHNG.

The hardcore photographers have some pretty impressive bios and equipment listed. On your bio sheet there is also a section that tells the rankings of the photos you have uploaded so you know the quality of your photos, of course it is based on users so some people will of course just rank you down for no good reason (some of us at AC are familiar with this) so don't always think a bad rating means your photos aren't good.
This site is a great place for amateur hobbyist photographers who want to get their work out to the public or just like to share their photos with others. I don't think that contributing to Stock.XCHNG will make you a huge hit in the photography world but you might get noticed if you work is good enough. It is at the very least a fun place to look at some great photography and maybe even find some good images for a website or flyer you are creating.
